This Rosary is from the "Holy Land Series," a collection of designs commemorating Christ's life with the Apostles especially at the Jordan River and the Sea of Galilee.
This Rosary especially remembers Christ's words to Peter when He gave him the Great Commission: "You are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build My Church!" (Mt 16:18)
The natural freshwater black pearl is that "Rock" of Peter.
The fish remind us of this first Bishop of the Church- that he was a simple fisherman, that after the Resurrection, when the Apostles had hauled in a great load of fish- Peter recognizes that it is the Lord who is there calling to them from the shore- and jumps overboard to swim to his Lord!
And, "Come after me," says the Lord, "And I will make you Fishers of Men!" (Mt 4;19)
Other unusual materials used in this series include the sand dollar center, starfish, and scallop shell Our Father beads.
The Legend of the Sand Dollar describes how this special shell has an image of the Christmas Poinsettia flower, for the Birth of Christ on the front, and the Crucifixion on reverse showing the outline of the Corpus with nail holes in the hands and feet, and a drop of blood from the soldier's lance at its base.
The scallop shell traditionally commemorates Baptism, St. James, and the Blessed Mother.
The starfish reminds us of God's promise to Abraham: "Your descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the sky." (Isn't it wonderful that God even put stars in the sea for us?)
The Dove and crystal over the cross reminds us of Christ's baptism, when a voice from Heaven was heard to proclaim: "This is my Beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased." (Mt 3:17)
